Transitional Kindergarten
What is Transitional Kindergarten?
Christ Lutheran offers an educational program suited for young children who are turning five by December 31st and who are not yet ready for a Kindergarten classroom.
The class is made up of a small group of students and is taught by one of our qualified Kindergarten teachers.
Daily activities include opportunities for the children to practice and perfect skills in the following areas: language, reading, math, science, music, art, practical life and computer. Time will be allotted for individual instruction as well as group interaction.
While our curriculum covers the skills set forth in the California
Kindergarten Standards, mastery of these skills at this level is not an expectation. Children finishing TK will move on to a Kindergarten setting the following school year.
Hours of Operation
The Transitional Kindergarten meets Monday through Friday from 8:30-12:00pm.
Extended Hours
Christ Lutheran offers options for extended childcare beyond the TK morning. The TK extended day will run from 8:30-3:00pm. Morning and after 3:00pm child care is available for an extra cost.
